To enhance and facilitate educational opportunities and social development of all students, especially underrepresented and underserved Black/African American children by developing partnerships, creating professional development, promoting the placement of Black/African American leaders, and shaping public policy.
LVABSE is committed to the following:
● Address educational needs unique to Black/African American youth.Promote academic and creative development of all students, especially of those of African descent.
● Promote academic and creative development of all students, especially of those of African descent.
● Serve as an advocate for Black youth, parents, and the community.
● Effect positive change in educational policies which have an adverse impact on the educational welfare of Black youth.
● Examine the drop out rate of Black youth and develop preventive methods and programs to combat the problem.
● Provide professional development for Black educators in all phases of the educational system.
● Influence and impact the policies of large professional organizations and policy makers regarding educational concerns of Black youth, educators and community.
